Job Description

New career opportunity for a Head of SHEQ to join a well-established leader in the maritime sector, based in the North of Scotland.

About your new role as Head of SHEQ:

Our client has a rich history dating back over 800yrs and continues to constantly evolve and be recognised for their innovation, commitment and environmental sustainability.

This is a key role that reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will oversee the development and implementation of the green strategy and roadmap to net zero.

You’ll join a well-known leader in the maritime sector who is seeking an experienced professional to provide leadership and strategic support to:

– Develop, implement and maintain policies, plans and procedures that will allow the organisation to respond to industry standards, relevant legislation and current best practice.
– Lead & support the implementation, management and evaluation of the integrated management systems and promote a culture of continual improvement within all departments.
– Oversee the development and implementation of the green strategy and roadmap to net zero.
– Provide leadership and strategic support to the SHEQ department ensuring delivery of organisational key performance indicators.

About you:

Our client is seeking HSQE with marine experience that has the following:
– Health & Safety – BA (Hons) in a relevant subject
– NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety Professional
– Environmental/Health & Safety Full member, or higher, of Institute of Environment
– Management Assessment (IEMA) Graduate or higher member of IOSH.

Desirable experience:
– General Environmental – Minimum 5 years’ experience would be desirable and to include direct exposure to port marine and maintenance operations and management systems.
– Management Systems – Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality: Qualified auditor or lead auditor
– Construction Environmental – previously worked with environmental or Ecological Clerk of Works. Experience of working on construction sites with a detailed knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regulations.
– Scottish Law Environmental – Solid understanding of emerging policy frameworks, especially marine planning and solid understanding of current applicable health and safety legislation.
