Job Description

Metal Assembly / Fabricating Operatives required for immediate starts with our client in Cumbernauld.
These are contract positions lasting for a period of between 3 and 4 months. We are unsure at this point if there will be potential for extension to this duration or even full time employment.

As an Operative – You should come from a hands on metal mechanical or manufacturing background and be familiar in reading technical / engineering drawings. This position may require occasional use of manual lathes and milling machines so candidates from this background will also be considered, also an understanding of welding processes may be beneficial. You will be keen to take on challenges, develop your skills and potential, as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Assembling components to engineering drawings
o Use of hand held grinding tools
o Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved
o Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department
o Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
o Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes
o Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
o Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications: ·
City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in an engineering related discipline or equivalent vocational training.
Relevant experience without a formal qualification will also be considered.

Working knowledge within an engineering environment
Working knowledge of mechanical assembly / production environment
