Customs Compliance Administrator, Permanent. Montrose, Scotland, UK.

An exciting opportunity to join a new team in a well-established National and International company.

As Customs Compliance Administrator, you will support and guide the UK Business Units that currently have an Inward Processing Authorisation in place to ensure that all elements of the authorisation are managed correctly in accordance with IP Authorisation and HMRC guidelines. The Customs Compliance Administrator will manage the day to day running of the IP Authorisations for the UK Business Units. The Customs Compliance Administrator will work with key stakeholders to develop and execute plans which involve the day to day running of Inward Processing while ensuring that customs compliance requirements are always met. The Customs Compliance Administrator will escalate any customs compliance issues relating to Inward Processing to the Manager Europe Regional Compliance. You will be keen to take on challenges, remain current on relevant customs law and regulations, with respect to products imported by the company operations and policies and procedures related to the import export process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

” Manage current IP Authorisations
” Track imports / exports on excel spreadsheet or through Duty Management System
” Manage throughput period of IP Equipment
” Prepare quarterly bills of discharge into HMRC
” Manage third party approved vendors in line with current IP Authorisation
” Supporting the Manager Europe Regional Compliance in Customs Audits
” Knowledge of commodity codes
” Manage customs clearance for equipment being imported into IP
” Manage customs clearance for equipment being re-exported out of IP
” Recordkeeping in line with HMRC guidance

Qualifications: Customs / Trade related Qualification

Experience: ” Extensive experience in Import/ Export,
” In depth Knowledge of Customs practices
” In depth knowledge of Customs special procedures

Skills, training or special knowledge ” Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office -Excel, Word, Outlook)
” Working knowledge of ERP systems
” Knowledge of using a duty management system
