Job Description

Our client is truly a “global giant” within the Oil and Gas industry, with manufacturing, production, design, drilling and rigs worldwide. They pride themselves on being a people based business where each and every individual is welcomed, nurtured and an integral part of the organisation.
For their manufacturing facility on the Northern approaches to Aberdeen they have an immediate requirement for a QA Manager.
As a QA Manager you will: –

Be accountable for achieving all relevant KPIs
Implement and maintain quality management systems to measure and control quality in the production process
Assist with quality standards for individual products and set out the standards in documents and processes for the production team
Complete performance measurements and reporting requirements that set quality metrics for each stage of the production process
Create documentation, such as quality manuals and procedures, and establish requirements for records management, document control and control of electronic data from inspection processes
Work with operations to raise awareness of the importance of quality and train them in quality procedures
Analyse quality problems to identify root causes and implement corrective action
Take proactive measures, such as developing and implementing continuous improvement programs covering production processes and quality management systems – eliminating the causes of quality issues and reduce the risk of failure
Agree on standards with suppliers and implement inspection processes to monitor incoming material
Support 1st and 3rd party internal audits
Monitor suppliers’ quality performance and implement corrective and preventative measures to deal with any quality issues
Monitor feedback from customers by working closely with the facility to identify any quality concerns and liaise with customers to resolve any issues
Supplying targets for yield improvements
Cost analysis and defect drive down – addressing non-conformance issues with production team
Management representative for the facility
You will work closely across the group supporting operations, aftermarket, product-line and supply chain.
Ensure all company policies surrounding stock, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met

Critical to this role will be the understanding of CE principles, API and NORSOK as well as your ability to document analysis of quality problems, root causes and implemented corrective actions that describe best practice by means of using manufacturing methods and problem solving tools such as 5Whys and 8D.

HND in a relevant quality/engineering/manufacturing qualification or equivalent
Lead Auditor
Certified Quality Engineer
Member of the CQI
Working knowledge within quality audit of manufacturing environment
Understanding, implementing and improvement layered audit processes
Skills, training or special knowledge
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
Continuous Improvement Techniques including Kaizen, Lean
5 Whys
8D problem solving
Good Manufacturing Process (GMP)
