Job Description

The Oil & Gas industry is on the turn with production on the rise. With more rigs now in the field than there has been for a number of years and in direct correlation to the upturn manufacturing is receiving investment.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Detailing of Rotating Agitators and Static Mixers to meet customer order requirements
Produce and check engineering documentation.
Create BOM in Teamcenter for release to the company’s ERP System
Supervise the design work of other engineers or contractors when required
Verify design work with calculations using Mathcad
Liaison with company suppliers to facilitate equipment manufacture.
Occasionally attend and participate in client meetings.
Support Sales and Operations by answering technical queries
Ensure equipment conforms to applicable Directives, including Machinery Directive, PED and ATEX.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve business processes and systems
Contribute to the development of systems and improvements in working practices.
Travel is occasionally required as dictated by project needs.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential
Honours Degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
Several years industrial experience as a designer / senior designer, the experience must include the design of rotating equipment.
Some experience with supervising other engineers in the design process
Proficient user of Solidworks or a comparable 3D CAD package
A team player who has a definite sense of urgency about their work

Desirable
Experience of using Teamcenter or a comparable PLM package would be preferable
Knowledge of EU Machinery, PED, and ATEX Directives and their application would be an advantage
Ideally have a working knowledge
