On behalf of our client, we’re recruiting a permanent Land Manager in Northampton. You’ll join an international market leader who is rapidly progressing in the housing sector.

About your new role as Land Manager:
• You’ll identify, bid, successfully secure and obtain planning consent and discharge of conditions on opportunities for residential development.
• Operating within business governance; project manage each opportunity from identification to acquisition
• Effectively and efficiently handover the acquired land to technical, commercial and operations
• Tender and contract with Registered Providers (Housing Associations) to maximise the profitability of affordable housing and ensure timely sale to accord with the business’s strategic programme.

Accountabilities of the Land Manager:
• You’ll report to the Land and Planning Director responsible for sourcing new residential land opportunities
• Whilst adhering to strict policies & procedures and Business ethics, you’ll successfully acquire or have terms agreed on at least 4 sites per annum and to diligently pursue each opportunity to planning approval and acquisition
• Manage the progression of each project through establishing project teams, establishing deadlines and ensuring targets are met
• Disseminating, reviewing and appraising consultant reports and drawings and Vendor information packs with the project team to understand development costs and inputting costs into viability appraisal system
• Working alongside the estimator to ensure viability appraisals are produced on time, accurately and kept updated.

About you:
• Our client is seeking an experienced Land Manager with:
• A relevant Degree and possibly RTPI or RICS qualified or working towards chartered status.
• Experience with a developer or house builder
• Should be able to evidence previous schemes and developments sourced, tendered and acquired and role in the purchase. Must have a contact base for Central England.
• Must be able to appraise a development opportunity in relation to local plan and national planning policy, undertake a viability cost analysis, understand technical drawings, designs and specifications
• Must be able to write clear and concise reports quickly and accurately and must be able to liaise directly with Board members.
